CHP at Green Isle Food

Edina has been awarded a large turn-key contract for the supply of a 1MWe CHP at Green Isle Foods.


The CHP project consists of a 1 MW natural gas MWM engine which supplies the site base electrical load by operating in parallel with ESB medium voltage. Electricity from the CHP unit is generated at 400 volts, stepped up via a transformer to 10,000 volts.

Power for Whitegate Power Station

Edina has been awarded a contract to supply a 2200 kVA standby generator for the new Bord Gais power station at Whitegate, Cork.


The standby generator is a critical part of the project and is used to safely shut down the power station in the event of a problem. Edina is contracted by the main EPC for the power station Gama Power Systems of Turkey.

CHP Grants Available

The new SEI CHP Deployment Programme will provide grant support to assist the deployment of small-scale (<1MWe) fossil fired CHP and biomass (anaerobic digestion (AD) and wood residue) CHP systems. It supersedes the "Combined Heat and Power RD&D" Programme.
